Step to the Connection Ambassador Promotion PDF print email
Written by Fanaticit

This is a guide to adding friends to the connection ambassador promotion. There will be no help in this article to get you online as there are so many different ways and can’t all be listed in one entry. Full details of the connection ambassador promotion rules can be found here.

Step 1: Connect the Wii to the Internet
If this step is not done yet go through to this page and learn how. This page is mainly for South Africans and has videos and notes for them to follow in order to get the most of their online experience.

Step 2: Updates
This is a step because if this the first time your are connecting the Wii to the internet there will be an update on the console. This will only take a few minutes, but it might be wise to start it and then make a cup of something warm.

Wii Shop ChannelStep 3: The Wii Shop Channel
The program is run from the Wii Shop Channel, it is measured off the first day that the shopping channel was used. If it was used more than a month ago you can’t get credit for that console. When entering the Wii Shop Channel for the first time it will ask you to link an email account with the console shopping account. This is so the account you have on www.nintendo.co.uk can be linked to the console, this is not needed right now and to speed up the process “click” cancel. It would be advised to do this in the future encase your console crashes.

Step 4: Connection Ambassador Promotion Menu
Here you are able to manage the connections that are made in a few ways.
Connection Ambassador Promotion MenuA) If you are setting this console up for the first time you will go into “Person Who Was Helped” menu and insert the Wii Console Number of the person who helped you get connected. [Yes, I know the title of the menu needs to change] When you register the person who helped you there are a few questions you'll need to answer about them, here they are:
How old is the person who helped you connect you Wii console to the internet?
-    Less than 20 years old?
-    Between 20 and 29?
-    Between 30 and 39?
-    40 years old or more?
How did your Connection Ambassador help you?
-    Arrangements for internet connection.
-    Equipment purchases (for example a wireless router)
-    Connection settings on Wii console or other equipment.
-    Other
What was the main reason you wanted to connect your Wii console to the internet?
-    To play online games
-    To download software
-    To use Wii Channels
-    Other
Connection Ambassador Registration MenuB) If your just adding a helped friend onto your console, under the “Connection Ambassador” menu you are able to capture the Wii Console Number of the person you helped, and check on the number of people you have help and see how close you are to your goal of becoming a Master.

To summarize the steps. For consoles that are being setup follow steps 1, 2, 3, and 4a. Then on the helper’s console follow steps 1, 2, 3, 4b. You have to add the Wii console number on both console to get the 500 Wii Poins. And you both get 500 Wii Points.
Just a small hint if you are aiming for the 20 friends reward; don’t waste your Wii Points obtained by joining friends, on Virtual Console games, keep them for Wii Ware games.
I am keen on getting 20 people helped but also want the South Africans to register their console on www.nintendo.co.za. If more South Africans do this, they will better the chance of Wii24Connection coming here.
