Comic Con Africa is back (a little earlier this year). Starting today, Thursday, 28 August and running through to Sunday, 31 August, the event held in Johannesburg has promised to be bigger and better than ever. And while this year, that means over 3 halls, 300 exhibitors, 5 film and series stars (Dan Fogler, Jessie T. Usher, Julie Caitlin Brown, Misha Collins and Taylor Gray) and much more… the big question we, local Nintendo fans, had was would Nintendo be making an appearance (they were not present last year).

And the best news is that not only is Nintendo back, but they have an absolutely HUGE presence in Hall 6 (and a few other bits and pieces in other halls too). Understandably, the Switch 2 is front and centre with big displays and lots of gameplay opportunities for Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza and lots of other titles. On top of that, there are also prizes to be won via a fun scavenger hunt-like activity. Additionally, the store (located in a large booth adjacent to the main one) is offering consoles, merchandise, and accessories on some amazing Comic Con-only deals.

It’s definitely worth a visit and I can’t wait to get back tomorrow and, on the weekend, to do more exploring!
