It seems the news is all about Kirby these days! And, who’s complaining? The pink fluffball’s new game is definitely getting a lot of positive buzz and while our full review will be up in the near future we can share that our first few hours with the game have been filled with nothing but whimsical joy! Kirby and the Forgotten Land features Kirby’s first foray into a fully 3D environment and also introduce some much-talked-about new abilities (Mouthful Mode anyone?!) and we’ve really loved our adventure so far.
Well if, like us, you can’t wait to explore more about the game it’s definitely worth checking out the recent interview published in this article by Gene Park for The Washington Post. Park spoke to Kei Ninomiya of Nintendo’s Entertainment Planning and Development Department (EPD) Production Group Two, Shinya Kumazaki, general director at HAL Laboratory, Tatsuya Kamiyama, director at HAL Laboratory and Yuki Endo, level design director at HAL Laboratory.
The short interview really dives into some really interesting Kirby lore and features a big chat about the games’ design including just how many of the game’s new features can we expect in the future Kirby games – and what special work went into balancing challenge and accessibility for players of all skill levels. Be sure to check out the full interview here.
In the meantime, if you need to catch up on the latest Nintendo News check out this week’s episode of 1-Up 1-Down.
