Zelda BOTW sequel delayed to 2023

Just minutes ago, a video posted on Nintendo’s official social accounts featuring The Legend of Zelda series producer, Eiji Aonuma announced that The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild (as yet unnamed) sequel has been delayed to Spring (Northern Hemisphere) of 2023.

The game was originally due to launch later this year, however, as explained in the video, the team has needed to ‘extend their development time a bit’. The video goes on to confirm that BOTW2 will be taking place ‘in the skies above’ as well as on the ground and as we watch Link ‘phase’ through a rock platform and look intently at an altered Master Sword, the video also highlights “new encounters and new gameplay elements”.

What do you think… could the delayed launch coincide with the release of Nintendo’s updated console – or are the current models here to stay? Let us know in the comments section below.
