Earlier today we got a brand new trailer announcing that Sonic Origins would be launching on pretty much every platform (including the Nintendo Switch) on the 23rd of June 2022.

Sonic Origins will be a remastered collection of four classic games featuring the blue blur namely, Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic CD, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles. The upgraded collection will feature widescreen visuals and new animations that will “tie the game together”. The description also explains that there will also be added features and modes and while we don’t have specific details about those, the official site does include mention of a Mirror Mode and Hard Missions.

It honestly seems like a pretty perfect collection for fans, however, the site does also include an overly complicated table indicating that there will be a variety of ‘editions’ some of which will not include all the features – and that’s a real pity.
