Hi everyone! my name is Tim and you may know me as the Nintendo guy from SA Gamer. Once we knew that SA Gamer wasn’t going to be around forever (and got over the deep sadness) I realised I wanted to continue to share my love of video games (and especially Nintendo Games) – friends encouraged me to start up The Nintendo Gamer. It’s a passion project; A site dedicated and primarily focused on games from Nintendo as well as Indies and 3rd-party titles that are playable on the Switch (or whatever future console Nintendo releases). Because we’re also very much against the whole ‘tribalistic console war’ stuff occasionally, we may even throw in a title or two from Xbox or PlayStation that perhaps ‘feel’ like they should’ve been on the Switch and for one reason or another are not playable on a Nintendo console.

Every week you can look forward to news about all things Nintendo and we’ll also do our best to review all the big games coming to the Switch as well as any interesting Indie games too. Soon, we’ll tell you a bit more about how our reviews work, so keep an eye out for that. We’ll also try to regularly throw in feature pieces. These will cover everything from ‘Best Of’ lists, interesting video game history and even some controversial opinions. Please feel free to comment on these features in particular as it’s way more fun with community interaction. We also want to host the occasional online gaming event (Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, anyone?) and hopefully even some Nintendo-themed giveaways. Finally, every Monday you can look forward to 1-Up 1-Down – a quickfire weekly news video series catching you up on Nintendo news you may have missed from the week before and what you can look forward to in the week ahead (here’s our first episode).
