Over the weekend IGN held their 2022 Fan Fest event which included interviews and reveals for a bunch of different entertainment properties across TV, Cinema and Game. However, for fans of the Nintendo Switch and Star Wars, one of the coolest topics was their coverage of the upcoming LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. There were two segments that caught our eye – the first was an Exclusive Developer Diary, where the team behind the new game spoke about what we can look forward to and humorously we learned that along with the old-school Mumble Mode, you would also be able to select an option playing the updated sound effects, would instead contain voices of people making Star Wars sounds – including the now famous ‘Pew Pew’ noise. Plus, the dev team even got to create new Star Wars creatures. It’s super odd and quirky and very LEGO.
The second segment that is worth watching is Brian Altano’s interview with Jonathan Smith the Head of Production at TT Games. He speaks about what was behind much of the development, new combat and collecting mechanics. he also confirms that while basing the new games in the older ones – the whole game has been built from the ground up and so we can expect a very updated experience even if we have played LEGO Star Wars games in the past. I for one am very much looking forward to the new game.
Remember LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga launches on all consoles including the Nintendo Switch on the 5th of April 2022.
