Love them or hate them, mobile games are a staggeringly huge industry. We know that Nintendo took some time to dip their proverbial toe in the water, however, now they have a long list of mobile-only games including Fire Emblem Heroes, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, Mario Kart Tour, Dragalia Lost, Super Mario Run and Dr. Mario World. And it seems Nintendo is making quite a lot of money with their mobile game lineup…
According to mobilegamer.biz (via Nintendo Life) “Nintendo has made almost $1.8bn in total global mobile game revenue since… 2017.” According to the info provided in the article, a massive chunk of the revenue came from one title, namely Fire Emblem Heroes with $983 million. Despite the wild success (and particularly considering the fact that support for Dragalia Lost will soon end), I wonder how Nintendo sees the future of their mobile games. In the meantime, It’s well worth checking out the full article for all the details.
