The game that probably best typifies ‘a true comeback story’ at least in recent history, No Man’s Sky, finally has a release date for when it will be available for the Nintendo Switch. Yes, earlier today, the official Nintendo Switch release date trailer was released indicating that No Man’s Sky would be hitting the hybrid console on the 7th of October 2022.
Developer Hello Games is partnering with Bandai Namco Europe for the Switch port which promises to include “six years’ worth of major content updates… as well as continuous updates in the future delivering new content”. In the official press release founder Sean Murray stated:
I think folks are going to be blown away when they finally get to play this game on such a tiny device. It really is an entire universe in the palm of your hand. It has been a huge undertaking, but a very rewarding one for our small team, and I’m really proud of the result.
Having never played No Man’s Sky on any other platform – I’m really looking forward to this one. And only hope that the Switch version will still be a great experience (despite the hardware’s limitations in comparison with the other platforms the game is available on)… I can’t wait to explore this “intergalactic playground”!
