Earlier this year we brought you the news that former NOA President, Reggie Fils-Aimé would soon be releasing a book covering his personal journey and of particular interest to readers of our site – his time at Nintendo. As mentioned in that article, I can’t wait to learn more about what it was like working with Mr Iwata and what it took to lead Nintendo’s American branch through some times of pretty big changes from the GameCube, the highs of the Wii, the lows of the Wii U and the birth of the Switch.

The book is launching on the 3rd of May 2022 and is entitled Disrupting The Game: From the Bronx to the top of Nintendo. As announced earlier today via Fils-Aimé’s own Twitter account and this great write-up from Kat Bailey writing for IGN, Reggie will also be doing the narration for the audiobook version, as explained to IGN:

“When I set out to write, I wanted it to read as if I had written you a detailed letter with key stories and insights that inspire you to pursue your own journey… Narrating the audiobook reinforced that I achieved my objective – the book truly is my own story, in my own voice.

I personally love audiobooks and when an audiobook encompasses another of my favourite hobbies (video games in general and Nintendo in particular) it definitely draws me in. So this one will definitely be joining my reading/listening list!
