You know the Pokémon marketing machine is in full swing when celebrities start appearing next to Pikachu on the train or in a full-spread advert in your favourite magazine. And this year it seems they’ve even gone a step further. After dropping a few hints last week, we finally got a full reveal for Sheeran’s new song “Celestial” that’s been released in conjunction with the Pokémon Company to build up hype for the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet games (releasing on the 18th of November).

If you’re a fan of Sheeran’s music, it’s more of the same with a catchy pop jingle that you can’t help but hum to after hearing just once. And while the lyrics themselves are not directly related to anything specifically Pokémon (unless I missed that altogether) the music video features a cool collection of your favourite ‘mons helping Sheeran out as goes about his day and creates a new song. It’s a fun little vid and definitely hits a few of those ‘oh-so-familiar’ nostalgic notes. Check out the video below:
