We already knew a teaser trailer was coming on Thursday (6 October) during the New York ComiCon, however, it seems we’re actually going to get some more information about the upcoming Super Mario Bros. movies. Earlier today, not only did we get the first teaser image (possible movie poster?) for the film, but it was also announced that we will be getting a Super Mario Bros. Movie Direct presentation too.

The Direct will be happening at 22:05 local time and will feature the world premiere trailer for the animated feature – and we’ve already been warned that no ‘game information’ will be included.

As a huge Mario fan, I’m stupidly excited for this movie, but that doesn’t mean I’m not also a little worried that it’s going to be a giant disappointment. However, for now (and after the success of recent video game adaptations) I’m remaining optimistic. And I’ve got to say, I’m loving the first image. Sure, Mario’s outfit looks a lot more textured than we’re used to (and I’m still concerned about how Chris Pratt’s voice will sound coming out of Mario), but I love the look that they’ve revealed – and I’m pretty happy that it looks like the Mushroom Kingdom we’ve come to love from the games.
